Allen Hall Public Relations
During my time at UO, I had the opportunity to work with Allen Hall Public Relations, which is a nationally affiliated PR agency. In my first year, I served as an Account Executive on the School of Journalism and Communication PR team, where I worked on creating social media content. Later, in my second year, I was promoted to Communications Director and was responsible for creating all of AHPR's social media content, as well as managing its website. At the beginning of the year, I redesigned the website using Wordpress.
J454 Public Relations Campaigns
In this capstone course, my team and I used a collaborative approach to research, plan, and execute a campaign for a client. We partnered with Oregon Health and Science University to develop a campaign that encouraged their nurses to use the O2 internal app. At the end of the term, we presented our final campaign to OHSU. J453 Strategic Planning and Cases
During this class, we studied various aspects of campaign planning, administration, crisis communication, and issues management. These included research, tactics, evaluation, budgets, and timelines. My team and I collaborated with Weave, a software company, to increase brand awareness in the medical spa industry. Our final presentation was delivered at the end of the term. J211 Gateway to Media
In this class, I learned how to integrate critical thinking, creative thinking, and basic skills to create nonfiction stories using different mediums such as words, photos, audio, and video. I collaborated with my friends and local businesses to help them tell their stories using each medium. Among the various projects I worked on, two of my favorites were the audio project I created with Angel City Pits in Los Angeles and the video project showcasing my friend's scrapbooking hobby.
